Encinitas, CA – The Encinitas Coastal Rotary Club’s annual Purse Bingo fundraiser once again proved to be an overwhelming success, raising over $25,000 to support local women’s charities. This marks a nearly 30% increase from the last Purse Bingo, thanks to the incredible generosity of attendees, sponsors, and donors.
This year’s event featured exciting new enhancements, including a raffle redesigned to offer only designer purses, increasing the number of luxury handbags available to win. Additionally, a Live Auction introduced a new auctioneer, adding fresh energy to the evening. These changes and a sold-out crowd helped make Purse Bingo 2025 the most successful yet.
“As a result of this generosity, each of the three benefiting charities will receive over $6,800 to continue their vital work supporting local women and families,” said an event organizer.
The proceeds from this year’s Purse Bingo will support:
- The Alabaster Jar Project, which empowers survivors of human trafficking and sexual exploitation by providing long-term housing and restorative services.
- Community Resource Center, Encinitas—Carol’s House Emergency Shelter is a safe home for survivors of domestic violence.
- Shades of Pink California, which provides financial assistance to patients undergoing breast cancer treatment.
The generous support of local businesses and sponsors also made the evening special. Attendees took home goodie bags filled with discount cards and samples from businesses such as SugarBears Sweet Provisions, Headlines the Salon, and others. Caroline Talebi of Edward Jones, the event’s goodie bag sponsor, provided special gifts, including a water bottle, grocery bag, and more.
Local businesses played a crucial role in the event’s success, donating gift cards, products, sweets, and pizza to enhance the experience for attendees. Special thanks go to:
- Leucadia Pizza in Rancho Santa Fe
- SugarBears Sweet Provisions in Encinitas
- Headlines the Salon
- Yco Facial Plastic Surgery
Additionally, Savvy Women Wealth Management and Gretchen Mitchell of Coldwell Banker have been long-time sponsors of Purse Bingo, helping to ensure the event’s continued success and growth.
With its reputation as a highly anticipated, sell-out event, Purse Bingo has become a beloved tradition in the community. It brings people together for a night of fun and philanthropy. The Encinitas Coastal Rotary Club is grateful to all who participated and looks forward to another exciting Purse Bingo next year.
