The Encinitas Coastal Rotary Club is proud to announce the successful distribution of proceeds from its annual Purse Bingo fundraiser, held in late January at the Encinitas Community Center. Thanks to the community’s incredible support, this year’s event raised over $20,000 — a record-breaking total for the popular gathering.

More than 200 guests filled the Community Center, eager to play bingo for a chance to win one of over 13 designer handbags, participate in a lively silent auction, and try their luck with raffle tickets for even more purses. The silent auction featured generous donations from local businesses, including gift cards to restaurants, salons, massage studios, and exciting experience packages, helping to make the evening even more memorable.

Proceeds from Purse Bingo directly benefit three charities that serve women and families in need: Alabaster Jar Project, Carol’s House of Community Resource Center, and Shades of Pink California. These organizations provide critical services, including support for human trafficking survivors, shelter for families escaping domestic violence, and financial assistance to women facing breast cancer.

“This event continues to be one of our favorite ways to unite the community while raising money for meaningful causes,” said Gretchen Mitchell, Purse Bingo Chair. “We are so grateful to our guests, sponsors, and local businesses who helped make this year’s Purse Bingo another sold-out success.”

The Encinitas Coastal Rotary Club looks forward to hosting the event again next year, promising even more excitement, community spirit, and fabulous designer handbags.
