Youth Service

The Youth Services committee sponsors an Interact Club at LaCosta Canyon High School and is planning one  at Mira Coastal.   L.E.A.D. – a Rotary program to promote “Service Above Self” in junior high schools, is being undertaken. We will be working with 7th and 8th grade students at Diegueno Middle School, sponsoring two high school students who will attend R.Y.L.A.’s (Rotary Leadership Youth Awards) District Conference in April. Rotarian Dennis Reese will be our Club’s contact. We worked at the annual Rotary 4-Way Speech Contest in February.  Gaby Beltran, LaCosta Canyon High School, was one of the 1st place winners of the first round of the Youth Instrumental Music Contest. Gaby will proceed to the next level of competition on Sunday, February 25th, at Palomar College.  Congratulations!
